Importing Data

Data can be imported via the UI or using a scheduled back-end process. This creates TRAC’s internal representation of the data and the physical records in your Data Store, which can be one of four common technologies covering cloud and on-premise deployment options.

Data Storage and Management

DATA STORAGE

TRAC uses regular cloud buckets (Athena, Big Query or ADF) for fast, scalable, efficient, resilient and cost-effective storage. On premises deployment is also supported.

DATA MANAGEMENT

TRAC manages the data layer for you. Explore data with standard SQL and TRAC translates the queries into the native technologies of your chosen Data Store, giving you the power of the cloud through a simple, intuitive interface.

VERSIONING

TRAC uses an immutable, append-only data model to retain a full history of every dataset. View all your data as at prior time, or re-wind individual assets to explore changes over time. Custom partitions, bi-temporal versioning and intra-day deltas are available as standard.

Using Data in Virtual Deployments

When running a calculation (a ‘Job’) TRAC fetches the physical records from your Data Store and orchestrate calculation on your Compute Service, returning the results a new set of data records.
